Description

The five-piece band, comprised of members from Taxi Violence, 7th Son and Dead Lucky, bring together unique musical sensibilities and describe their sound as “old school Rock ‘n Roll with a grunge twist.” Goodnight Wembley quickly won over South African crowds with their larger-than-life rock sound and stage presence. Their first single ‘Time Machine’ charted on 5FM’s Top 40, shot to Number 1 on Campus Radio and held the Number 1 spot on the MK video chart – a solid launch for a brand new act! The 11-track album BANG! was recorded on drummer Jean Labuschagne’s farm in Stellenbosch in November 2012. Brendyn 'Rusti' Rossouw of Heritage Sound was at the production controls, with mixing done by Neal Snyman. The Mother City musicians were able to pull together their own grunge, rock and pop culture references creating a sound that manages to appear both fresh and nostalgic, curious and catchy, innovative yet familiar. The album also includes an exciting collaboration with Francois van Coke (VCK/Fokofpolisiekar) and members of Dead Lucky.
